Introducing HDx, a new frontier in hemodialysis
Baxter is pioneering a new therapy for people with end-stage kidney disease (ERSD). HDx, or expanded hemodialysis, uses Baxter’s new THERANOVA dialyzer to extend the range of molecules that can be filtered from the blood during therapy.
Due to kidney failure, people with ERSD retain harmful molecules in their blood. Hemodialysis removes those molecules, with the dialyzer acting as the artificial kidney to filter these harmful molecules.
The THERANOVA dialyzer is designed with an innovative membrane that effectively targets large middle molecules.
- HDx enabled by THERANOVA is as simple to perform as standard hemodialysis therapy and is designed to work with most standard hemodialysis machines using conventional treatment schedules.
