AUTOMIX Transition Information Center
Baxter recommends customers not use their AUTOMIX compounder, and instead employ an alternative therapy or compounding method, as soon as possible. Full details about the AUTOMIX withdrawal are in the Field Corrective Action letter sent to customers in the United States on Aug. 22, 2012.
While Baxter recommends customers do not use their AUTOMIX compounder and transition to available alternatives as soon as possible, we recognize some customers may need transition time to select and deploy other options. For customers requiring continued use of the AUTOMIX compounder, contact Baxter's Global Technical Services at 1-800-626-2667 Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. CT, by Sept. 12, 2012, to request a Certificate of Medical Necessity (CN).
Only facilities that contact Baxter's Global Technical Services by Sept. 12, 2012, and complete and return the CN by Oct. 12, 2012, will receive continued support, service and/or dedicated disposables beyond those dates. Facilities that do not take the appropriate steps to request and submit a CN will not receive ongoing support, service and/or dedicated disposables for their AUTOMIX compounder during the U.S. withdrawal. Baxter will complete the U.S. withdrawal by June 1, 2013, after which time support, service and dedicated disposables will no longer be made available.
Baxter remains focused on executing a timely and controlled withdrawal that centers on patient safety. Please contact the Center for One Baxter at 1-800-422-9837, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CT, with additional questions.
