Baxter’s Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) organization manages and coordinates global programs and activities to reduce the company’s environmental impacts, create safe and healthy workplaces, and advance product stewardship.
Baxter recognizes the interconnections between aspects of its environmental footprint, such as water consumption, energy usage, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. For example, producing highly purified water for Baxter’s healthcare products uses significant amounts of energy. As a result, saving water also helps the company to reduce energy use and associated GHG emissions. Taking a holistic view to understand and decrease Baxter’s environmental impacts is central to the company’s approach.
