Producer Responsibility and WEEE in Spain

Spanish WEEE Regulations

The Spanish Royal Decree 208/2005 on Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Management of its Waste came into force on August 13th 2005.

Baxter Obligation

For equipment that you buy Baxter after August 13th 2005, Baxter is required to finance the collection, treatment and recycling and recovery of the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) that your new purchase replaces, on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. The old equipment that your new purchase from Baxter replaces is referred to as Historic WEEE.

Under the Decree, Baxter is also required to finance the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of any new electrical and electronic equipment that you buy from Baxter after August 13th 2005, when that new equipment eventually becomes waste. This is referred to as New WEEE.

WEEE Collection & Recycling Information

Baxter has joined the Compliance Scheme ECOASIMELEC to meet WEEE requirements and will cover any costs of treatment, recycling and recovery of the equipment.

Our Technical Services will coordinate the transport of the WEEE to our facilities from where the wastes are to be disposed for final treatment.
