Producer Responsibility and WEEE in Denmark

Danish WEEE Regulations

Producer responsibility for WEEE in Denmark is regulated by the Danish Environmental Protection Act and the Statutory Order on WEEE. Producer responsibility for electrical and electronic equipment was introduced in Denmark further to the EU WEEE Directive, and it took effect on April 1, 2006.

Baxter Obligation

Under the regulations mentioned above, Baxter is required to finance the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of electrical and electronic equipment that Baxter places on the market.

WEEE Collection & Recycling Information

Baxter Denmark has established a recycling contract with “Elretur collective system”. Elretur is a Danish scheme that secures environmentally safe treatment and disposal of all waste of electrical and electronic equipment – WEEE. We report our product sales and pay our fees on a regular basis to Elretur. If you need to dispose of your Baxter product please contact:

Health & Safety Information

Baxter's customers sending equipment for recycling are required to provide a decontamination certificate for medical equipment prior to collection. Infected WEEE is not included under the scope of the directive and customers should be aware that WEEE that presents a health or safety risk to personnel because of contamination will be refused for collection.
