Producer Responsibility and WEEE in the Czech Republic

Czech Republic WEEE Regulations

The Czech Republic Decree Waste No. 352/2005 Sb. – Decree on details of waste electrical equipment and electrical waste and detailed conditions of the financing of waste management (Decree on the management of electrical equipment and electronic equipment) and Law no. 185/2001 Sb. Act 7/2005 implement the 2002/96/EC Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) EU Directive.

Baxter Obligation

Baxter is required to finance the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of WEEE that your new purchase replaces, on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. The old equipment that your new purchase from Baxter replaces is referred to as Historic WEEE.

Under the Decree, Baxter is also required to finance the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of any new electrical and electronic equipment that you buy from Baxter after August 13th 2005, when that new equipment eventually becomes waste. This is referred to as New WEEE.

WEEE Collection & Recycling Information

Baxter has established a recycling contract with "RETELA" and will cover any costs of treatment, recycling and recovery of the equipment.

Our Technical Services will coordinate the transport from the customer to our facilities, from where the wastes are to be sent to RETELA.

Health & Safety Information

Baxter's customers sending equipment for recycling are required to provide a decontamination certificate for medical equipment prior to collection. Infected WEEE is not included under the scope of the directive and customers should be aware that WEEE that presents a health or safety risk to personnel because of contamination will be refused for collection.
