Producer Responsibility and WEEE in Cyprus

Cyprus WEEE Regulations

Baxter products are sold in Cyprus by distributors. The distributor acts as the importer of the equipment into Cyprus. Thus the distributor has the legal responsibility to:

  • Register as the WEEE producer in Cyprus.
  • Finance arrangements for collection and recycling of WEEE arising from Baxter products that the distributor sells in Cyprus.

Baxter Obligation

All WEEE that Baxter handles is classed B2B. This means that if the customer purchases a new piece of EEE from Baxter sprl, we will finance the take back an electronic item that performs an equivalent function (one for one). Where no new items are purchased from Baxter, disposal of WEEE is at the end users cost, except for where other contractual arrangements apply. Baxter is registered in the producer register managed by RECUPEL.

Please contact the distributor directly to find out how they are meeting these obligations for your waste electrical and electronic equipment.

Health & Safety Information

Baxter's customers sending equipment for recycling are required to provide a decontamination certificate for medical equipment prior to collection. Infected WEEE is not included under the scope of the directive and customers should be aware that WEEE that presents a health or safety risk to personnel because of contamination will be refused for collection.
