DEERFIELD, Ill., June 7, 2004 – Baxter International Inc. (NYSE: BAX) announced today that Neville Jeharajah, age 51, has decided to retire as Vice President, Investor Relations after 22 years of service, effective June 30, 2004. On an interim basis, Mary Kay Ladone, age 38, will assume responsibility for Investor Relations and will be the primary point of contact with the investment community. Ladone has been with the company for 16 years, the last eight of which she has served as Director of Investor Relations. She will be responsible for communicating the company’s business strategies and financial performance to investors and analysts on a global basis.
