David P. Scharf is corporate vice president, associate general counsel, and corporate secretary of Baxter International Inc.
Prior to joining Baxter in 2005, Scharf served as associate general counsel for Guidant Corporation, where his responsibilities included corporate governance, complex transactions, and capital market matters. Prior to Guidant, Scharf handled similar matters as assistant general counsel with Sears, Roebuck and Co. and was an associate with Baker & Daniels.
Scharf received his law degree from the University of Chicago, where he was a member of the law review, and his undergraduate degree in finance from Indiana University. Prior to law school, Scharf worked in foreign exchange derivatives for a predecessor of UBS.
