About the Program

Program Structure

Baxter's& Financial Development Internship Program provides college undergraduates a unique experience that feeds into our full-time Financial Development Program (FDP). The FDiP is a 12-week internship program that affords college undergraduates an opportunity to gain exposure to different areas within finance and accounting including but not limited to financial planning, financial reporting, business analysis, strategic planning, corporate audit and treasury. Interns can be placed in one of our three Northern Illinois locations which includes Deerfield, Round Lake and McGaw Park.

Cross-Functional Summer Intern Project
Although the topics change from year to year, the main focus of the summer intern project is to gauge how our interns work on a cross-functional team and develop their presentation skills. In general, interns research and learn about the various products and achievements within Baxter. The interns then present their findings to a panel of Baxter's business leaders.
Completing the Internship Program

Upon entering the program, interns will be engaged in a formal assessment of their experiences during the summer. From the beginning, interns will work directly with their managers to establish realistic and tangible goals. Mid-way through the program, managers and interns will meet to assess the intern's progression and final intern evaluations will take place at the conclusion of the program. Following this final assessment, interns are considered for placement into the full time Financial Development Program once they obtain their undergraduate-degree.
