The rotations cover a wide range of roles, businesses, and locations, challenging FDP associates to quickly adapt and add value to each position. It is a progressive and challenging program that provides its members a breadth of unique experiences in various aspects of corporate accounting and finance that will shape associates into the leaders of the future. Global Opportunities

Baxter International Inc. has a presence in more than 100 countries worldwide. That global business presence is reflected in the FDP, as over 25% of rotations reside outside the United States. The international rotations allow FDP associates to experience international business and global finance hands-on, and is yet another means of providing unique, highly valuable career development opportunities.

Peer Mentor

Upon entering the program, associates will be assigned a peer mentor who is a current FDP member within Baxter. The goal of the peer mentor program is acclimate the individual to Baxter’s corporate culture and introduce them to the values and goals of the Financial Development Program.

Away from the Desk

Aside from the regular duties associated with an assignment, FDP associates have the opportunity to participate in several activities within the Financial Development Program. This includes discussions with senior management, leadership roles on one of the three FDP committees, and participating in volunteer and social events. These are only a few of the many opportunities available for associates as part of the program.

Graduating the Program

As associates progress through each rotation, they continue to build upon and develop their skills and enhance their understanding of Baxter’s operational environment. Prior to completing the program, associates will begin planning their transition to a regular, full-time position outside the program. The program manager, along with past FDP supervisors and alumni, will help the associate transition from the program to their next role. Upon graduating from the program, members will have gained insight into several businesses and functions;  their cross-functional knowledge and breadth of experience will allow numerous career opportunities in Baxter.

“There were multiple job opportunities available when I completed the program. Finding an opportunity was not a problem, deciding which one to pursue was the issue.”
